The PlasmaPen is a remarkable device that uses nitrogen plasma gas to renew, lift, and tighten areas of the face and body. This fibroblast plasma therapy delivers flashes of gaseous plasma just above the skin’s surface to smoothen and repair the underlying dermis layer of the skin. The handheld piece works to reduce signs of aging and repair skin damage such as facial wrinkles, sagging upper and lower eyelids, and even stretchmarks.
RejuvenationMD® – Aesthetic Skin Treatment & Wellness Center is one of the few medical spas trained to provide PlasmaPen treatments. How Does the PlasmaPen Work?
PlasmaPen technology works to tighten, resurface, and regenerate the skin by creating micro-trauma (known as fibro-blasting) in the epidermal and dermal layers of your skin. Your epidermis is the surface skin layer that’s responsible for skin tone and protection from environmental factors, and the dermis is the underlying skin layer that houses connective tissues, sweat glands, and hair follicles. By using thermal conduction to heat and disrupt the structure of the skin’s layers, PlasmaPen promotes the natural production of collagen and healing for a renewed skin texture and appearance.
The handheld PlasmaPen piece turns electrical energy into electrostatic energy, which creates an artificial nitrogen plasma gas. Two electrodes inside the device generate an electrical discharge that’s suspended on an insulating barrier. The plasma gas or charge collects on the surface of that barrier, which is safely transferred to the face or body in an arc 1 millimeter above the skin. This no-contact delivery system offers a variety of benefits, and the device houses several fail-safes that prevent its use when the PlasmaPen is too far away from or touching the skin.
Plasma gas is comprised of ionized and positively charged molecules and is one of few gases that is controllable yet can create magnetic energy and conduct electricity. PlasmaPen utilizes the dynamic qualities of plasma gas without the need for a bulky, complicated device. These treatments offer immediate and visible results that can last three years or longer without the need for chemicals, injectables, or surgery.
The efficient delivery system of the PlasmaPen offers little to no adverse side effects or pain. The handheld PlasmaPen is FDA-approved and an affordable, effective alternative treatment to cosmetic surgery and more invasive procedures Trained providers at our Bellingham and Burlington offices can help you achieve a rejuvenated complexion by reducing signs of aging and renewing areas of damaged skin.
What Face and Body Skin Concerns Can PlasmaPen Treat?
