Plump lips and minimize fine lines or wrinkles.

Belotero® is a thinner, “softer” filler that works well for refining superficial areas like the tear troughs and vertical lip lines. It is a very thin hyaluronic acid filler and can safely be injected in areas with thin skin. Since it’s ultra lightweight and easy to layer, Belotero® outshines other fillers for treating the finest of lines.

How does Belotero® work?

Belotero® is a thinner, “softer” filler that works well for refining superficial areas like the tear troughs and vertical lip lines. It is a very thin hyaluronic acid filler and can safely be injected in areas with thin skin. Since it’s ultra lightweight and easy to layer, Belotero® outshines other fillers for treating the finest of lines.

As with most dermal fillers, the main ingredient in Belotero® is hyaluronic acid. By binding itself with the water in your skin after Belotero® is injected, the hyaluronic acid and other active ingredients fill in lines and wrinkles.

Wherever Belotero® is injected, the hyaluronic acid in it improves your skin’s ability to retain moisture, stimulates collagen production, and fills in fine lines to minimize wrinkles.

What can be treated with Belotero®?

Belotero® is FDA-approved to smooth out wrinkles in the face such as crow’s feet, lip lines, marionette lines, and the nasolabial folds, or smile lines.

Other common areas Belotero® is used include:

  • Hollowed-out under eyes
  • Fat pads under the eyes
  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Cheeks
  • Chin

How much does Belotero® cost?

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the average cost of hyaluronic acid fillers such as Belotero® is $684/syringe. The cost of your Belotero® treatment depends on the amount of product you need to address your concerns. During your consultation at RejuvenationMD, we’ll take a close look at you

At all three of our RejuvenationMD medical spa locations in Bothell, Burlington, and Bellingham, we offer Belotero® for $650/syringe,
The cost of your Belotero® will depend on how much of the product is used. Most patients need multiple syringes to achieve their goal results. When you consult with us for your Belotero® treatment, we’ll develop a treatment plan tailored for you.

All new patients at RejuvenationMD receive a $200 credit toward any treatment, which can be used toward Belotero®, and the Merz Xperience+ reward program makes it easy to save on your favorite treatments.

When will I see the results of my Belotero® treatment?

It typically takes a few days to start seeing your Belotero® results, and you’ll see final results within one to two weeks as it can take time for any swelling to subside.

How long do Belotero® results last?

The longevity of your Belotero® results depends on the areas you’re having injected. Many of our patients enjoy their results from the injections for more than a year. Like all hyaluronic acid fillers, Belotero® doesn’t last as long when injected in areas that move a lot, such as around the lips.

What is a Belotero® treatment like?

When you visit RejuvenationMD for Belotero®, one of our experienced injectors will discuss your goals and develop a treatment plan. The areas to be injected will be marked and a numbing cream may be applied. We’ll then use a fine needle to inject the treatment while gently massaging each area to distribute the product as evenly as possible.

Can Belotero® treat dark circles or hollowing under the eyes?

As one of the thinnest hyaluronic acid fillers on the market, Belotero® is a great product to use in areas with thin skin such as around the eyes. It’s common for us to use this treatment to help conceal fat pads and fine lines around the eyes.

What are the possible side effects of Belotero®?

Like all dermal fillers, serious risks are rare for this treatment. Some bruising and bumps may occur and are normal after having Belotero® injections, especially around the tear trough area. Give the area time to heal; it should resolve on its own within two weeks after your treatment.

Other possible side effects from Belotero® include:

  • Swelling
  • Infection
  • Tenderness
  • Asymmetry
  • Vascular occlusion (injection into a blood vessel)

What can’t be treated with Belotero®?

If your goal is to add volume or sculpt new shape into your cheeks, jawline, and temples, there are other fillers more suited to these concerns.

What are alternatives to Belotero®?

All fillers have their own advantages, and Belotero®’s edge is its thin texture that allows it to be injected into thin-skinned areas. Though its alternatives are not recommended for the tear troughs or lips due to their thicker material, there are some products that some patients prefer over Belotero®. These alternatives include other hyaluronic acid-based fillers such as JUVÉDERM® and Restylane®, Radiesse®, and Sculptra®.

Does Belotero® treatment hurt?

As with any other dermal fillers, getting Belotero® injections is a quick and relatively painless process.

We apply numbing cream to the areas you’re having injected prior to the treatment to prevent discomfort.

How do I prepare for a Belotero® treatment?

When you schedule your Belotero® with us at RejuvenationMD, we’ll ask your medical history and make sure you are not taking any medications that may interfere with your treatment.

If you have an underlying skin infection or cold sore, we’ll likely ask to reschedule until it’s healed. For the week leading up to your Belotero® appointment, you should avoid the following:

  • Retinols/retinoids
  • Blood-thinning medications
  • Certain herbal supplements

Am I a candidate for Belotero®?

If you want to fill in surface-level lines and wrinkles or smooth out and restore volume to thin skinned areas, Belotero® is a fabulous option. Thanks to its thin consistency, the chances of it clumping in the tear troughs like other fillers are very low.

Generally, the best candidates for Belotero®:

  • Want to minimize moderate to severe facial wrinkles
  • Want to address aging signs in areas such as the nasolabial folds (smile lines)
  • Need to fill in thin skinned areas such as around the eyes
  • Aren’t trying to add volume to alter their facial contour

Is there any downtime needed after a Belotero® treatment?

There’s no downtime needed after a Belotero® treatment. Most of our patients go right back to their usual daily activities immediately after their appointment.

To reduce swelling from your Belotero® injections, avoid the following activities for 24-48 hours after your treatment:

  • Strenuous exercise
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Heat and sun exposure
  • Salt (in large quantities)
  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and aspirin
  • Lying directly on your face
