A year-round laser resurfacing treatment for all skin types.

Sciton’s MOXI® laser is breaking boundaries to make healthy, glowing skin accessible to everyone. It is a low-level laser that is safe for all skin types and a versatile anti-aging preventative that is part of a year-round regimen for healthy skin.

Why should you visit RejuvenationMD for MOXI™ laser?

MOXI™ by Sciton is a laser resurfacing treatment that can treat and prevent aging signs and sun damage, revealing healthy, glowing skin. This anti-aging treatment is part of a year-round regimen for healthy skin for many of our patients at RejuvenationMD.

Beyond targeting existing skin conditions like hyperpigmentation and surface-level lines, MOXI™ is considered by many to be a “prejuvenation” treatment, as it can be added to your facial rejuvenation maintenance plan as a preventative treatment.

How much does MOXI™ laser resurfacing cost?

At all three of our RejuvenationMD medical spa locations in Bothell, Burlington, and Bellingham, the price for a MOXI™ treatment package of 3 ranges from $2,450 and up.

We may recommend a series of treatments for the best results possible, then yearly treatments to maintain those results.

The cost of your MOXI™ will depend on the number of treatment sessions you need. When you consult with us for your MOXI™ treatment, we’ll create a treatment plan tailored for you.

All new patients at RejuvenationMD receive a $200 credit toward any treatment, which can be used toward MOXI™.

What can be treated with MOXI™ laser?

Aging and exposure to sun damages your skin over time, causing pigmentation issues like brown and red spots. MOXI™ targets these spots, evening out your skin’s tone and pigmentation. It can safely treat the face and body on all skin types.

The MOXI laser treats early skin cancers, benign pigmented lesions such as age spots, sunspots, and freckles.

Other concerns we often treat with MOXI™ here at RejuvenationMD include:

  • Melasma
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Large pores
  • Fine lines

How long do MOXI™ laser results last?

We have our patients return to RejuvenationMD once a year for follow-up MOXI™ laser treatments in order to maintain the results of their initial series of treatments. We may recommend two treatments a year to some patients depending on their skin type. Be sure to continue wearing sunscreen and avoid over exposure to the sun to prevent future damage.

What is a MOXI™ laser treatment like?

When you visit RejuvenationMD for your MOXI™ laser treatment, you’ll consult with one of our laser specialists about your concerns.

Before starting the treatment, we’ll cleanse your skin thoroughly and give you goggles to protect your eyes from the laser light. Numbing prior to the treatment takes about 30 minutes, while the procedure itself takes about 8-12 minutes depending on the treatment area.

After your treatment, we’ll put a topical serum onto your skin and you’re free to drive home or back to work.

How does MOXI™ laser work?

MOXI treats patches of hyperpigmentation, stimulates the growth of new collagen and improves skin tone & texture. By stimulating your skin’s natural response to repair itself, this treatment restores the tone and texture of your skin.

When will I see the results of my MOXI™ laser treatment?

You should notice results from MOXI™ just 5-7 days after your appointment. Many patients see great results after just 1-2 treatments of MOXI™, but we recommend a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 4-5 weeks apart.

Does MOXI™ laser treatment hurt?

Most of our patients here at RejuvenationMD share that they feel a warm prickly sensation, but it does not hurt. Immediately after your laser treatment, you may experience itching, redness, discoloration, swelling and warmth in the treatment area. This is normal and will go away on its own within a few hours.

What are alternatives to MOXI™ laser? Can it be combined with anything?

Here at RejuvenationMD, we offer other laser treatments that can be used in place of MOXI™ or as an added bonus for next-level results.

BBL® (BroadBand light) HERO™ laser – Also developed by Sciton, this laser is what we call the Ferrari of IPL (Intense Pulse Light) treatments. Like MOXI™, it also targets signs of aging like brown spots, sun damage, redness and multitude of other skin conditions, but also restores the gene expression in older skin to resemble younger skin. It’s not uncommon for us to pair BBL® HERO™ with MOXI™in some patients’ treatment plans to see dramatic, radiant results.

HALO laser™ – We offer HALO™ Pro Laser Treatment, a stronger alternative to MOXI™, here at RejuvenationMD. HALO™ targets your skin at a deeper level than MOXI™ and can more aggressively target sunspots and fine lines if your concerns are too severe for MOXI™ to improve.

Other treatments we offer that can safely be paired with MOXI™ laser treatments include:

Can men get MOXI™?

Many of our MOXI™ laser patients are men and love their results. Most men try to avoid any treatment that involves downtime, so they’re pleasantly surprised to find out that they can get on with their busy lives as usual immediately after their MOXI™ treatment. The laser itself does not impact facial hair follicles or beard growth.

When is the right age to start MOXI™ treatments?

The best time to get your initial MOXI™ series of treatments is as soon as possible. It’s known as a “prejuvenation” treatment, meaning it can target aging signs and sun damage before they even form.

Since the healing process is minimal with zero downtime and it’s such a gentle treatment, it’s safe for younger treatments and doesn’t get in the way of your busy day-to-day schedule.

How do I prepare for a MOXI™ laser treatment?

Let your doctor know if you’ve been prescribed Accutane within the last 12 months. If you have a history of cold sores, let us know ahead of time as we’ll need to give you a special medication to take before your appointment.

We recommend avoiding the following a week prior to your MOXI™ appointment:

  • Blood thinners like Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Fish Oils, and Vitamin E
  • Sun exposure
  • Retinol products
  • Self tanners

What are the possible side effects of MOXI™ laser?

MOXI™ is overall a safe, gentle laser treatment with low risk of complications. Some rare, minor complications include:

  • Burning sensation
  • Redness
  • Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
  • Can cause a patient with the dormant HSV virus to have a cold sore outbreak if not given pre-treatment (we always ensure our patients have the pre-treatment medications they need)

Am I a candidate for MOXI™ laser?

MOXI™ is safe for all skin types, even darker Fitzpatrick skin types IV, V & VI, thanks to its customizable settings.

Anyone wanting to improve the appearance of their skin by evening out pigmentation and texture can be a great candidate for the treatment.

In general, good candidates for MOXI™:

  • Want to prevent and improve aging signs
  • Aren’t expecting dramatic improvements in skin concerns
  • May want to maintain results after a more aggressive laser treatment
  • Want to “polish” their skin for mild textural improvements
  • Want to address minor sun damage
  • Want to address dyschromia
  • Take preventative skin care treatments seriously and want something to add to their maintenance routines

Is there any downtime needed after a MOXI™ laser treatment?

Your MOXI™ treatment will be followed by practically no downtime. Your skin may appear pink and have a tingling sensation similar to a sunburn, but this goes away within a few hours.

You shouldn’t wear makeup, sunscreen, or do your usual skin care routine for the rest of the day after your appointment. Anything other than Retin-A and other retinols is safe to use the next day.

Don’t be alarmed if your skin develops a rougher, sandpaper-like texture after your treatment. It should heal on its own over the next five days or so as your top layer of skin sheds and reveals your new, glowing skin.

You’ll notice brown spots appear in 2-3 days. You should be able to comfortably go about your daily activities as you heal.

Wear a daily SPF and avoid direct sun for a week or so after the procedure.

“I have struggled with melasma since my late 20s and have tried everything to treat it and Halo Pro worked well. But, Dr. T had me try a series of 3 Moxi Laser treatments, 1 month apart, and my skin looked amazing afterwards. Treatment is really mild, not as aggressive as a Halo Pro treatment, so I can do Moxi more often without the downtime to control my melasma. I recommend it to all my friends struggling with melasma. And, the treatment is great for every skin type!”
