Botox and Xeomin are as miraculous as you’ve heard.
Wrinkle relaxation products are used to improve the appearance of frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines across the top of the face, and lateral canthus lines (crow’s feet) on the sides of the eyes.
- Smooth the appearance of dynamic lines and wrinkles (crow's feet, frown lines, forehead lines)
- Non-surgical injectable treatment with little to no downtime
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Xeomin® are effective facial line and wrinkle treatments for our RejuvenationMD® – Aesthetic Skin Treatment & Wellness Center patients. These injectables both contain botulinum toxin, which is a neurotoxin that works to smooth wrinkles caused by repetitive facial expressions and muscle movements. Both FDA-approved injectables are excellent options to soften lines and creases in the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes.

The Science Behind Botulinum Toxin in BOTOX® & Xeomin®
The botulinum toxin found in BOTOX® and Xeomin® is naturally found in the environment. In certain small, concentrated amounts, botulinum toxin can be injected into various areas of the face and body to inhibit muscle movement temporarily.
Botulinum toxin disrupts the signals in your nervous system, preventing the release of the chemical acetylcholine. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that sticks to muscle cell receptors, causing muscles to shorten or contract. This process occurs when you frown, squint, smile, and so on, which is why these injectables work so well at addressing wrinkle formation. By preventing these muscles from contracting, BOTOX® Cosmetic and Xeomin® lead to a smoother, youthful look to your skin.
What Can BOTOX® Cosmetic & Xeomin® Do for You?
BOTOX® has been used for medical and cosmetic purposes for decades, going back to 1989 when it was first FDA-approved to treat “strabismus‚” (crossed eyes). The neurotoxin can be used to treat migraine headaches, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), urinary incontinence, eyelid spasms, and many other medical conditions. The cosmetic benefits of botulinum toxin were an accidental discovery by researchers in the 1970s. Now, BOTOX® Cosmetic is the most popular injectable across the country, with over 7.4 million treatments in 2018 alone, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
BOTOX® and Xeomin® are cosmetically used treat moderate-to-severe:
- Glabellar lines, also known as “frown lines,” or “11s,” which are the vertical lines between the eyebrows.
- Horizontal forehead lines.
- Canthal lines, also known as “Crow’s Feet,” which are the wrinkles found on the outer corners of your eyes that look similar to a crow’s footprint.
BOTOX® and Xeomin® are world-renowned injectables that tout “miraculous” results for millions of men and women. However, individual results vary as each patient is unique.
