Vampire Facelift®

Volumize, lift and restructure – all at the same time.

The Science Behind Platelet-Rich Plasma

Platelet-Rich Plasma (or PRP) heals and naturally regenerates tissue via growth factors and secretory proteins from the increased concentration of platelets and their bioactive molecules.

The Vampire Facelift® procedure combines our widely used fillers with your own platelets. The filler works by adding immediate volume to the areas that have lost their youthful lift. Then, we inject your PRP beneath the filler, boosting the filler’s effects. Over the next few days, your skin absorbs the platelets, but you are left with the volume the filler has restored.

As your skin absorbs the PRP, your natural stem cells become activated by the platelets, causing them to migrate to the areas they were injected. Thus begins the generation of brand new collagen, blood vessels and tissue, resulting in more lifted, youthful skin. As times goes on and the filler begins to break down, the effects of the PRP will continue to improve; results improve for 2-3 months and can last for 1-2 years. If you are someone whose filler just “doesn’t seem to last,” this procedure is for you!

The Treatment Process

Does it hurt?
You and your provider will discuss the appropriate treatment plan for your goals. When you come in to be treated we’ll begin by applying a topical numbing cream for 20- 30 minutes prior to the procedure. The fillers have lidocaine in them as well which also enhances the numbing.

How long is my treatment?
As you are getting numb we’ll draw a small amount of blood from your arm and separate the platelets from the blood using a specialized centrifuge. We call these platelets liquid gold. Your physician will then inject the dermal filler and place the PRP beneath the filler. Depending on your goals and the number of filler syringes you are getting, a typical appointment requires about 90 minutes.

Can I combine collagen generating treatments?
Sometimes patients will elect to pair a PDO thread face lift treatment with their PRP Facelift for even more collagen development and facial restructuring. Talk with your provider about the appropriate treatment plan for you.

How long is the recovery process and when will I see results?
Recovery is very minimal. After treatment there may be swelling, bruising and/or redness in treatment areas, but this should resolve in a few days. As mentioned above, the results of the dermal fillers are immediate and as the PRP goes to work generating new collagen, blood vessels and tissues, the results from the procedure will continue to improve. At the 3-4 month mark, patients will realize the full results of treatment that can last 1 to 2 years.

Is there anything else I should know?
Recommendations vary, but we generally begin with one treatment to see how your body responds to the process. For pre and post care instructions click here.
